Photo Contest

The submission period is now closed.

Thank you to all who submitted entries to the second annual ZOOM Photo Contest.  The judging period will commence in the second week of December after we have catalogued all the submissions.  All entries will be assigned codes, and identities of the photographers will not be revealed to the panel of judges until the winning entries are selected.  Visit this page regularly for updates.

The winning photos and finalists in each category will be featured in the first issue of ZOOM in 2012.

IMPORTANT: If you submitted photos but didn’t receive an acknowledgement email, please call 604.989.9277. To the best of our knowledge, we have acknowledged receipt of all submitted photos via email, so please give us a call if you have not received an email from us.

Winners must be able to provide high resolution versions of the photos submitted.  By high resolution, we mean an uncompressed TIFF or high quality JPG or JPEG at 300 ppi (pixels per inch) with a minimum of 1600 pixels on the longest side.  This high quality format is necessary for publication in ZOOM.  Failure to provide a high resolution image may compromise your win.

If you are using a digital camera and not sure whether it’s set to take high resolution images, check your camera’s user manual and look for “image size”.  Make sure that your camera is set to take photos with a minimum of 1600 pixels on the longest side.  Some digital cameras would have this at a setting of 1600 x 1200 pixels, which results into an image file size of 2MB.

Thank you to all who submitted their photographs!

If you have any questions, please contact us.
