Yasmina Reza’s Art

A groundbreaking collaboration between the Gibsons and Sechelt Rotary clubs will bring the critically acclaimed play Art to the Gibsons Heritage Playhouse October 5–21. Art, written by Yasmina Reza and translated by Christopher Hampton, has been performed internationally, debuting in Paris on October 28, 1994. The original London cast garnered the talents of Albert Finney, Tom Courtenay, and Ken Stott. Directed by Sally Williams and produced by Lynn Grossutti, the provocative, funny three-hander is performed by Richard Austin, Larry Musser, and Norm Blair. The creative team includes Mardell Vestad, Billie Carroll, and Geran Capewell. Local artist Christy Sverre has created wry, witty images inspired by Reza’s three characters, Marc, Serge, and Yvan. Visit the website to participate in an online auction of her renderings as part of our fundraising spirit. And purchase tickets at secheltrotary.ca.
